Professional Writing
New course in winter semester 2019/20:
Professional Writing taught by Shira Richman.
The aim of the course is to gain practice and expertise in writing texts necessary for professional contexts. We will examine real-world samples of writing in terms of purpose and audience. Based on the findings of our rhetorical analyses, we will create context-appropriate texts such as proposals, brochures, mission statements, websites, procedures, reports, and others commonly needed by corporations, NGOs, startups, and governmental institutions. By the end of the semester, members of the class will have a portfolio of polished writing samples.
