Language Centre Statutes

The Language Centre Statutes regulate the legal position, responsibilities, tasks and structure of the institution as well as the function and responsibilities of its managerial levels (director, board and heads of department).

Degree programme and examination regulations

Studying at the Language Centre is subject to the following regulations:

General degree programme and examination regulations for the Language Centre

Studying and examinations at the FAU Language Centre, in particular UNIcert® language training, are subject to the General Degree Programme and Examination Regulations for the Language Centre and any subsequent amendments.

UNIcert® certificates for general language skills or languages for special purposes (U Basis, U I – U III)

FAU offers students foreign language training at levels A1 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in addition to their main degree programme. Students can obtain a language certificate (UNIcert®) standardised across several institutes of higher education and accepted as confirmation of having completed the respective course. Examination regulations for Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (German language university entrance examination for international students – DSH)

Anyone who does not speak German as their native language and cannot provide proof of adequate proficiency in German in any other way must take the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) in accordance with valid examination regulations before being admitted to study at a German institute of higher education.

Fee regulations

The latest version of the Fee regulations of 1 October 2004 applies to studying at the FAU Language Centre. (Fees only arise in a small number of cases.)
