The following is a brief outline of the most important information for students who would like to take a language course in Erlangen.

Who is responsible for students of English?

English courses for students at the School of Business, Economics, and Society are offered by the Language Centre (Nuremberg Campus). Students studying English as part of a teaching degree at the Regensburger Straße Campus should contact the Department of English for Students of English and American Studies.

Registering for courses and examinations

Students should generally register for language courses via the Language Centre’s own course management system (Oktis). Any exceptions are stated in the UnivIS entry for the respective course. Students with prior knowledge of a language usually have to take a placement test. As the university-wide examination administration system does not record all achievements, examination achievements in Nuremberg also have to be managed via Oktis.
