Language certificates
The Language Centre offers students the option to obtain certification of language skills in a number of languages. Please find below a list of the certificates offered with links to further information.
- HSK (Chinese)
The Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK – Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is a standardised language test for Chinese as a foreign language. It tests and certifies language proficiency in Chinese and is recognised throughout the world. - DSH (German)
The DSH is intended for students from abroad to show that they have sufficient German skills for studying at a German university. The certificate for passing the DSH examination is recognised at all universities in Germany. - TestDaF (German)
The test of German as a foreign language is an international language examination aimed at those who already have a good command of German who would like to take an examination as official proof of their language skills. Under certain circumstances, the TestDaF certificate can be accepted as proof of language ability for admission to university. - TOEFL (English)
The Test of English as a Foreign Language is a standardised language test used to certify English language ability of non-native speakers. The test is recognised by many universities in the English-speaking world as a prerequisite for admission. - GR Zert (Modern Greek)
The Certificate of Attainment in Greek is the official language certificate of the Greek state and is recognised as proof of language ability when enrolling at a Greek university. - UNIcert® (16 accredited languages)
The UNIcert certification system offers international language training in the accredited languages. Many universities and institutions of higher education recognise UNIcert certificates. - Mobility tests (all taught languages)
A mobility test is a relatively uncomplicated way to provide proof of existing language skills required when applying for a stay abroad (e.g. as proof of language ability for a DAAD scholarship).
