Locations – FAU Language Centre

The Language Centre has locations in Erlangen and Nuremberg. Our main offices are in Erlangen, and the Language Centre (Nuremberg Campus) is located at the School of Business, Economics, and Society in Nuremberg.

Students with questions regarding language courses (registration, certificates etc.) should contact the information desk at the Language Centre in either Erlangen or Nuremberg.

Students who are studying English as a teaching degree subject (Regensburger Straße Campus) should contact the Department of English for English and American studies in all instances.

The following information is only meant to provide general guidance. Please refer to the websites of the respective departments for detailed and up to date information.

In Erlangen, practical language teaching and cultural studies are offered in Bachelor’s, Master’s and teaching degrees in languages (also for teaching degree students studying English in Nuremberg). In addition, language courses either integrated into degree programmes, taken alongside degree programmes or studied in addition to other degree programmes can be taken in Erlangen as key qualifications, subject to their own examination regulations and leading to special certificates (e.g. UNIcert© I-IV).

In Nuremberg, the Foreign Languages Department in Nuremberg works closely with the respective language departments to offer language courses at the School of Business, Economics, and Society as well as for teaching degree students who are not studying languages (Regensburger Straße Campus). The language courses on offer are either integrated into degree programmes, taken alongside degree programmes or studied in addition to other degree programmes. UNIcert® Basis-III examinations can also be taken, leading to a certificate.
