Registration UNIcert® II exam / application FAU-internal B2 certificate

If you took / will be taking the final examination required for the UNIcert II certificate in English in the current or the previous semester, you have two options:

• you can apply for an FAU-internal B2 certificate which certifies CEFR level B2 in English, or 
• you can register for the UNIcert II exam

If you would like to obtain an UNIcert II certificate, you must take an additional exam (reading and listening comprehension) on Saturday, 11th July. To obtain an FAU internal B2 certificate, you only need to successfully complete the two required courses.

If you are currently taking part in a level 2 course, you can register apply using the form you will find during the registration period on your StudOn course page.

If you are not taking part in a level 2 course this semester because you passed the final required course in the winter semester 2025/2026, please send an email to sz-easp-info@fau.de with the following details:

• Your matriculation number
• The names of the two level 2 courses you successfully completed 

Once we have checked these details, we will send you a link to the application form*.

*The new version of the examination regulations applies to registrations from the summer semester 2026 onwards. Students who had already completed the two required courses in the winter semester 2025/2026 do not need to take an additional exam in order to obtain an UNIcert II certificate.

Important: You must apply for a certificate or register to take the UNicert II exam in the semester in which the last examination was taken, but no later than the following semester. It is not possible to obtain a certificate or take the UNIcert II exam later. No certificates will be issued without an application having been submitted, and only those students who register may take part in the UNIcert exam.
